二桃杀三士，two peaches
killed three warriors: during the time of Spring-Autumn 770-476BC there were
many dukedoms in China. The duck of 齐had
three brave warriors. They were not afraid to die during any war, but they make
trouble to the people in the time of peace. The chancellor 晏子，a very short man
worried about this, for whenever they appeared the legal system would not
restored. So he had to kill this three men. Yet they are the duke’s favourites.
One day, when the peach was ripe, he invited the duke and three warriors to his
mansion. After dinner, he present two peaches to the duke, saying that would
for the bravest warrior. How to evaluate who was the bravest one? They had to
fight each other. Then there was a fearful fight among the three warriors,
finally only one lived, yet as they were sworn brothers, and he saw the other
two were died, he committed suicide too.

望梅止渴 : looking at plums to quench the thirst. One day 曹操 lead a troop on the way. It was a hot summer. Everybody
felt thirsty but they could not find water, suddenly 曹操 shouted
on his horse, “Ha there are a grove of plum, hurry up.” When the soldier
thought there are really some sour plum, their mouth water grow up and it
quenched their thirst.
