As牡=bull
and 牝=cow,
obviously the symbol of 士
represent the male sex. You may find many Chinese characters have this symbols to
represent male. But as being more than two thousand years in a feudalism rule,
no one dare say the truth, even Confucius dared not say it directly. Today, China
is still under the feudalism system that is the real power in the hand of few powerful
family, some corrupted high rank officer has dozens or even hundreds sexual
partner, yet the government still won’t talk about this. The funniest thing is
that when an officer led a dissipated and corrupt life, normally he is the
person who pressed the sex life of others the most. For it shown the rank of
himself, if anyone can talk about sex, it would be worthless. This phenomena
disturbed the study of Sinology very much. Every clear information had been
blurred, and we can only from some indirect material found what the ancient
people wanted to express. If the information totally lost, we have to guess or
to image what the ancient people thinking about. I can’t say what I said it the
truth but I will do the best. Today we believe the following image is the
original one that caused an ancient person drew the character ‘士’.
It is not too hard to understand what the two spots represent
for. Yet some of the official material said the character of 士means an axe:
They argue that another character壯 (means strong), come from 爿plus
士. The 爿means
bed as turning 90° it look like:
So a bed plus an axe means in ancient time a strong man
always keep an axe on bed. This opinion is from: http://www.vividict.com/WordInfo.aspx?id=3186
But another opinion believe that male is strong in sex on
bed:

I prefer the later one, because in ancient time the axe was
