From the earliest Dynasty (2070-1600BC), the court (or government) had some special officers called 采风 public opinion collector. They collected music, dance and poem from various local people one of the poem about the love of a couple said:
山无陵, 
江水为竭, 
冬雷震震, 
夏雨雪, 
天地合, 
乃敢与君绝!
I will be with you unless mountain turned to plain, river dry, thunder in winter, snow in summer, heaven and earth join together, then I will separate you.
 文君当垆:文君selling alcohol: 司馬相如179—117 BCwas a famous scholar in Han Dynasty. When he was a poor student, he fell in love a girl 文君 from a rich family. Her husband dead shortly after their wedding. One day 司馬相如 found a very good chance to visit the rich family of 文君. During the banquet, he played a music to show off his talent. 文君 listened the music in secrete (at that time female normally didn’t allow to join a banquet with male). She was moved and fell in love with司馬相如too.


That night, they eloped together. When her father found out his daughter married a poor student, he was angry and swore never gave this daughter even one penny. The daughter didn’t care about the poverty. She suggest to 司馬相如 to buy a pub opposite her father’s mansion. Every day, they worked busily in front of her father as poor people. 
 Day after day, the father felt shame and gave them a lot of money, so they become rich people too. Later司馬相如, turned to be the most famous scholar at that time and work for the emperor. His students turned to be high rank officers one by one.
