Multilingualism, Mission: Impossible (IX)

Anyway, a language is better to have more words than less words, no doubt, it is the development of every languages. Yet the key issue is how the speaker of this language master one million words? The English has already one million words and in every 88 minute a new words is emerged. A normal person can only master 20,000 to 30,000 words during life time. Under such a circumstance someone promote multilingualism it would be hard to accept. They never counting about how many words a person can master in two languages; it could be 30,000/2=15,000, what about three languages? It could be 30,000/3=10,000 and four languages 30,000/4=7,500 words. The best way could be the first language 30,000 words, the second language 20,000 words the third language 10,000 words and so on, if the language is similar, like the French to English. So I told someone who claim he can speak five languages that by seven words one can speak a language fluently. For instance, you meet a person, speaks unknown language. You ask him, ‘Swedish?’ he answer something you don’t know. Then you try ‘French?’ he said ‘yes’ then you say, ‘sorry I can’t speak.’ Altogether you know seven words, they are ‘the name of the language’, ‘yes’, ‘no’, ‘sorry’, ‘I’,  ‘can’t’ and ‘speak.’ With this seven words you can speak this language fluently, but what for? It just like any one with a handful words in a certain language, always repeat some low level meaning. On the other hand, there are so many linguists who could not count number, yet they promote multilingualism:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_words_are_in_a_typical_modern_person's_vocabulary?#slide=1 said “such as Winston Churchill, have been estimated to understand up to 400,000 words.” What this means? From Wikipedia, Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965) let’s count how many words he have to learn every day in order to master the 400,000 words.

1965-1874=91, but he didn’t pass his 91 birthday, if we suppose every month is 30 days, then the gap is 11-1=10 months, 30-24=6 days, that is to say 10x30+6=306 days. So he lived in the world 91x365-306=32,909 days. 400,000/32,909=12.5 words. This means to say, from the first day, he came to the world, he learn 12.5 words daily and never forget them afterwards, till he died he could get that number of words.
