For the past few centuries, hundreds of languages disappeared
totally, that is the fault of multilingualism, for they pretend to spread such
language and failed. On the other hand they didn’t pay money and energy to
collect the information and material of such languages.
To decode the Rosetta Stone it took twenty years. If only the
ancient people know that their language is going to disappear and left some
clue for that language, such as a Greek/Egyptian dictionary it will help us a
lot. And things will be better than they are now.
What we want to know is not the language itself but the
culture that carried by the language. In this way, the more important thing is
how to link a certain language to a rational language; a language can survival
as long as human being exist. When the time is changing, even a once powerful
language as Latin can be regarded as died language. But the reason will exist
forever, only the reason will accompany human being to the end. So to link
every language to the real rational language is helping it to survival. We have
plenty electronic means to record the picture, the sound and nearly all the detail
of a language, why not collect and record them to help the future people to
know them before they are dead, instead force today’s people to practice them
one by one? Push more people to practice a certain language will not stop the
fate of its disappearing but to link it with a rational language will.
