Multilingualism, Mission: Impossible (V)

Today some of the multilingualism web turned to be propaganda web. In other word, don’t allow comment:

Is one of them. An expert start a new column called “Multilingualism matters”. At the moment it has three papers. 1. Multilingualism - What is it? It did recognise that the world need a common language or an international language, but it said, “engineers coming from all over the world to work and settle down in another country and speaking English at work.”  Is this mean that engineer is not human being but some sort of superman?

2. Children are little geniuses! It said, “To conclude, children are little geniuses because they can learn one or more languages apparently without any effort, if they are exposed to languages and if people interact with them in these languages.” Like most IE linguists, they put much emphasis on children geniuses because, children genius don’t need any proof besides a merely feeling; an adult genius need proof. Today’s people is easy to believe that a children genius is going to be an adult genius any way they have this potential but the history tell us on the contrary, most children genius turn to be ordinary, and most real genius had an ordinary childhood. In the 3. The bilingual advantage. It said, “We won’t deeply discuss personal advantages of being multilingual, because everyone can understand what they are, according to one’s personal life intentions.” “Much more important is the fact that bilingualism/multilingualism can open the door to other worlds, it can foster tolerance of other languages and cultures.”  That is platitude what if we learn some other knowledge instead a foreign language, for instance to be an engineer? It may open a wider door for anybody, because it is a totally different field of study, while learning a new language is but changing symbols from one to another and the meaning doesn’t change. Especially today some language genius don’t know how to counting number already; we will talk this later.

Like any colourless author, these three articles dare not talking about any number of vocabulary. They dare not face the reality of most important things too.
